Why Come to Broadstairs?
Broadstairs is an easy to get to, picturesque seaside town with great sailing waters and a friendly sailing club.
We don't have different event week in week out, so there’s no feel that you’re an anonymous person just being farmed through a generic program.
We aren’t situated in the middle of nowhere, so anyone you bring along that doesn’t sail doesn’t have to sit around the sailing club all day. Non sailors can spend the day on our fantastic beaches, visit local museums or go on a cliff top walk along the coast.
Accommodation within easy walking distance of the club and the town is plentiful. We can even arrange free competitors car parking down on the seafront right next to the boat park so unloading your trailers is as hassle free as we can make it.
Events That Really Fit
When it comes to events for different class, one size doesn't fit all and we appreciate this. So, we can tailor things to make sure it is the sort of event that fits your class sailors and their families. On the sailing side and the social side we will do what we can to make you feel like you belong.
Sailing
You can choose to use our club start line or go offshore a little way and have a committee boat. You can tell us if you want lots of short races over a small course or lengthier races over a large course, we aren’t restricted for space in any direction so you can have whatever shape course that suits your class needs.
Our race management is excellent (and it's not just us that say so!). The race officer and the patrol boats on the water will make sure that you get the course right for the conditions and that you won't be sitting around for ages waiting for the next race, when we say back to back racing, we mean it! Onshore will make sure that all the results will be available by the time you get back to the beach and up to the club for some well deserved refreshment.
Social
An open meeting isn’t just about having excellent racing on the water; it’s also a chance to meet the people in your class, and for that a good atmosphere is essential. Broadstairs Sailing Club has a newly oufitted bar (and for this year the lounge is all new as well) for after race socialising and a sociable team that will work to help your event social get remembered!
