why join Broadstairs?

Broadstairs is a club with very friendly atmosphere. We have a proud history, having been founded in 1936, but the club has all modern facilities. We have nationally renowned sailing and regular social events throughout the year (they too are nationally known!).
The clubhouse lounge and bar is in a prime seafront location and has a panoramic view of Viking Bay. It’s full of character and underwent major refurbishment at the beginning of this year‚ so now it's even better, all for the benefit of the members.

what does it cost?

We have 6 membership Categories at BSC, and all of them offer fantastic value for money. If you work it out‚ a Single membership is only £1.44 a week That's less than you can get a good cup of coffee for these days. For 62p a week more‚ both you and your husband/wife or partner can join, and it still costs less than a latté!

got kids?

If you have children‚ our Family and Single Parent categories add all your children for just £13 onto the cost of the annual Joint or Single membership. Sailing is a lot better for children (and adults alike) than a Playstation or Xbox! It can be a very active sport‚ it’s very sociable and develops confidence and self awareness.

in school?

If you’re under 18 or in full time education‚ then our Junior and Student memberships are there for you. These offer you use of all the facilities of the club that a Single member would have (except the bar for under 18s!) at a price that you can afford.

Discounts?

The membership year starts on the 1st of January. However‚ we appreciate that most new members don’t come to us right at the beginning of the year. Summer is when we get most enquiries‚ most looking for more information about membership after stopping to chat to a sailor while out for a walk on Broadstairs’ seafront.
We don’t think it’s fair to ask for a years membership if there’s only half the year left. So‚ for new members‚ we operate a pro rata discount system on membership fees whereby you only pay from the month you join until the end of the year!

This means that no matter when you decide to join Broadstairs Sailing Club‚ you will always get the same excellent value.

The discounts don’t stop after your first year; a 10% discount is given to those members that pay their membership fees by 31st January.
